Questions on Formal Nights

I have a question on "optional" formal night on the Dawn. I have never sailed a Freestyle cruise before. Does the formal night apply to all eating venues or just the main dining room.. How formal do they dress? Gowns or cocktail dresses? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Optional formal applies to all the restaurants. Optional means you can still eat anywhere and not dress up. Perhaps 40% upgrade to some extent from "resort casual" A few tuxes, some suits, sport jackets with and without ties. Some formal dress, cocktail dresses, nice skirts, or pant/Capri.

Completely your choice - what ever makes you comfortable you will not be out of place.
