Misty Fjords... By boat or Floatplane?

I really want to go to the Misty Fjords while I am in Ketchikan on May 18, 2006. My question is should we do it on a boat which takes approx. 4 hours or should we do it on the Floatplane which takes 2 hours. I was just about to book the floatplane and I was talking to my neighbor and he said that while he did not do that tour while on his cruise but he did talk to a lot of people that did and he said a lot of people complained about getting motion sick on the float plane. Is one tour much better than the other. Which one should I chose?

Boat. You get to see so much more. The boat takes so close that you feel the spray off the waterfalls, you can stop by new eddystone rock out there, and plus they give you food and a naturlist.

My preference is definately a float plane, you just see so much from above that is not viewable from a boat, so either choice is a good one in my opinion. :)

The pictures of Misty Fjords at Webshots that were obviously taken from a plane convinced us to try the floatplane trip. Why don't you give those a look?

I would much rather do the cruise...the flight scares me a bit and the price is quite high for four of us (two kids). what tour company does the Misty Fjords cruise? which is best?

I think Goldbelt tours and Allen Marine are the 2 tour operators with cruises around $137 and $149 pp. lasting 4-6 hours. There is a thread about this either on the front page or a couple pages back about the Misty Fjords cruises.
