blondie1234 Posted April 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2006 I am thinking of purchasing an international cell phone for an upcoming cruise to the Baltic. Which phone plans are best? I am thinking about Verizon, Mobal or Telestial.

sultan_sfo Posted April 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2006 We purchased the $100 Mobal last year just before our Baltic/Transatlantic trip. Worked well for us and we will use it for our next Mexican Riviera and South America cruises. We used it a few times from the Baltics but had the signal in each port. It worked as a peace of mind because the kids could also reach us in emergency. We gave the kids a complete list of port days (with a caution to call us in St.Pb. only in a real emergency)! Mobal's billing was accurate. Now Verizon and Cingular have added international options which are cheaper. But with Mobal there is no danger of racking up unintentional roaming charges./Sultan
