Driving to Miami Cruise Port

We will driving down to Miami form New Jersey for out August 27 sailing on Freedom of the Seas....we were going to make severla overnite stops dwon the eastcoast. I am tentatively thinking about driving from Savannah straight to Miami on August 26...Is this a very long drive ?

 

Would it be better to say find a mid point between Savannah and Miami (i.e. Melbourne, Del Ray beach ?) Stay overnite there and then continue to the cruise port on the 27th ?

 

If anyone ahs any ideas or thoughts on this let it would be appreciated...

I would suggest you be at Miami at least the night before just in case.
