stockholm transportation/tour

We are going to be arriving outside of Stockholm on the Star princess. Can someone suggest a tour guide/transportation from the dock to the city. Does anyone know how far the journey is by car? We really don't want the hassle of getting to the train, waiting, etc...

On our Med cruise we had a driver/guide waiting at most ports for us and this worked out well but I am having trouble locating one for this port.

There may be a few taxi available, or you can possibly make arrangements for taxi's. Review postings from last season to find out further details. But, for a private driver and car like you had in the Mediteranian may not be possible, but if you do find one, it will cost a lot, much more than you might have paid in the Med. Scandinavian countries are not at all like the Med. when it comes to services such as this.

 

In general, most people either did the train, or ship's tours. Due to the cost, only a few might have taken advantage of the taxi.

We also had looked into doing something similar to what you want. Contact the Stockholm tourism office. They arrange transport and guides from the dock to Stockholm. yes, it is a bit high but if your in a group or sharing with others it may be worth it. Taxis you can pre-reserve to have them at the dock when you arrive.
