The first formal night is usually the second night of the cruise, although that can change depending on the itinerary. If you can tell us which RCI ship, Sovereign, Splendour, or Serenade, you will be on, I am sure someone can give you the correct information.

On the Sovereign on May 8, a 4 day cruise, formal night will be the second night, the day that you are in Nassau.

Deck 6 on the Sovereign is an interesting deck. It's called the "Tween Deck" - it doesn't go the length of the ship, just the forward part. You basically have to go up or down to get ANYWHERE. But that's ok, that's good. It's just half a flight of stairs up to 7 or down to 5. It's a very nice location - Deck 5 has the shops and Lattetudes and Ben and Jerry's and the theatre and the Schooner Bar and the CASINO!!!

Deck 7, of course, has the upper level of the theatre, the Loyalty Ambassador's desk where you can book your NEXT cruise and get a nice onboard credit, and the all-important Boleros Lounge, where you can participate in the Dueling Pianos show! ;)

Which is, of course, the only reason that we would find you in that lounge, right Carol? It could never be the mojitos or cuba libres that would draw you in? :D:D
