hukfinn Posted April 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Has anyone every been in a class 9A room on a spirit class ship? We are going to be on the fifth floor and they have told us that the view will not be obstructed, but we just want to make sure. Thanks,
mrdood Posted April 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Type "9A" into the search and you will get tons of information, there is at least one thread on this page already...
serene56 Posted April 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2006 5241 and 5243 are slightly obstructed. Lifeboats come to the balcony plexiglass. But is between two life boats and not as bad. http://www.carnival.com//Deck_Plan.aspx?shipCode=MI&deckCode=U 6277 & 6279 are better but you still will not be able to look down intot he water. http://community.webshots.com/photo/231082601/1283580891062547426IJeRZn lifeboats sit at deck-5 Here is a photo of the life boats and how they are lsited as obstructed view. You can look out fine. http://community.webshots.com/photo/231082601/1283581491062547426TIjSQB

hukfinn Posted April 15, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Thanks, Just wanted to make sure that lifeboats weren't the only thing you could see.
GottaLuvCruising Posted April 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2006 We had 6277 on the Spirit and were able to look straight down into the water. I don't remember seeing the lifeboats at all. Our balcony was huge and we loved the stateroom.

Spirit class is sooo very different from every other carnival ship in the fleets.

YooperGale Posted April 17, 2006 #14 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Hi, My husband and I have booked a seven day Alaskan cruise for May of 2007 and will be on the Spirit. We have balcony room 5169, category 7A for $950.00 (military rate) per person. This includes taxes and port fees. I was told our view out, left, and right will be fine, but we will not be able to see directly below us because there is a lifeboat there. Has anyone had a similar balcony? Do you think we will be disappointed? I would really like to hear from someone who has actually "been there, done that" but will welcome any and all opinions. Thanks a bunch, Gale
serene56 Posted April 17, 2006 #15 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Gale- the life boats are even with your balcony railing. Some are better then others. (cabins between the lifeboats) http://community.webshots.com/photo/344241236/1344244281070127580yChuIV http://community.webshots.com/photo/344241236/1344244354070127580ESVjKj 5169 is also a connecting cabin-- if you do not need the cabinnext to you-- I'd consider moving to another. 5236 is thee best balcony you can get in that category-- see if that one is available. 5142 -has the less obsrtuction. 5190-91 are also good cabins but they hold 3 / 4 passengers. YooperGale Posted April 17, 2006 #16 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Thank you so much for those suggestions. I will call my Carnival TA and see what I can do. We did kind of want connecting cabins, but not at the price of view. Thanks, Gale
