Capris in Mexican Cathedrals?

I know that it's not okay to wear shorts in the cathedrals, but do you know if capris are alright?

We went as far as the back of one church for a peek since we were in shorts and didn't feel right about going futher than that. On a tour our tablemates went into another church and were told hats had to be off for men and as long as they were quiet and respectful entering would be OK, and they did. ....Maybe a casual skirt will solve the problem... :o

Slacks are OK. You should avoid sleeveless tops or halters. A t-shirt is fine. Head coverings are no longer required for women. Respectful behavior will go a long way to making you welcome.
