What does Celebrity say? It takes a while to get from the port to the Rome airport. Depending on traffic the driving time could be from 45 minutes to 2 hours!! Once you get to the airport you have to check in and go through the formalities and security which could be another lengthy process.

When we flew from Rome Celebrity said not to plan for anything before 1pm--and we were using their transfer. The timing was such that we got through all the formalities and only had about 45 minutes before our flight left. You don't want to cut it too close. It's a long swim if you miss your flight!

I would not chance it. Especially since on international departures they close the gates sooner than on domestic flights here in the states.

Better to pay a little bit more money and take a later flight.

Air/Sea will let you pick anything you want. Doesn't mean they will transfer you, though.

11:30 is very do able especially in Nov. You could take public transport or better take the ship transfer and they will get you off the boat with pleent of time to lounge around the airport and do some last minute shopping. They have it down to a science. The trip to the airport is nice and there is little traffic for the most part.

On our Galaxy cruise last summer we docked in Civitavecchia much earlier than the published time. People were getting off as early as 6:00 AM, so we must have docked around 4:00 AM. We had chosen to stay an extra night in Rome because we didn't think we'd make an 11:30 nonstop flight home. As it turned out, we could have.

Your itinerary is a bit different from ours, with the last port being Livorno rather than Genoa. But that's still a short distance so you are likely to be docking earlier than the published time.

No guarantees, of course, but you will likely be able to make that flight. It all depends on your tolerance for stress. If you will be worrying about it, then choose a later flight or fly home the next day. We loved lingering over coffee, being in the last group off the ship, and enjoying the rest of the day in Rome. Then we got that 11:30 nonstop flight the next morning.
