tangerinebunny Posted April 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Does anyone know if the robes Celebrity provides would double as swimsuit coverups? We're going to Alaska in May and packing space in Very Limited. We may be able to use the hot tub if the weather is warm enough, but we won't be using the pool. LuAnn Posted April 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2006 Last time we were on Celebrity it appeared in the daily paper that it was not appropriate to wear your stateroom robes out of your stateroom...but MANY people still did...and on other cruises I have been on many people did wear their robes to the pool/spa etc. I think I would do/wear what ever you feel comfortable in! caribbean dreams Posted April 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2006 Lots of people wear the robes out to the poll & hot tub, i assume some snobby people complained so it had to be put in the daily paper. I guess Hugh Hefner won't be cruising on Celebrity.
hajekfam Posted April 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2006 It is a standard blurb in all Celebrity dailies. It may have something to do with the fact that if the robe is not in your room at the end of the cruise, you will be charged for it. Leaving a celebrity robe on a chair while you are in the pool or hot tub enables a dishonest person a cheap way to bring home a souvenir from the ship at your expense. vms Posted April 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2006 While the robes are very absorbant, they're not very warm, being of a thin woven cotton. If you're concerned about the air temp compared to the hot tub, I'd suggest a "track suit" or yoga style pants and long sleeved shirt. You will stay much warmer for the short time you're running for cover.
