Grand Turk...1st time cruiser

We will be in Grand Turk in mid May on Carnival Elation and have several questions. We should be in port from noon til 7:00PM. 1. Is there adequate transportation (shuttles, cab etc) that you can catch to Governors Beach from the port without booking thru Carnival. 2. Are there places on the beach to buy food and drink? 3. Are there better beaches to go to than Governors and... is transportation, food and drink available there. ANY info would be greatly appreciated. We're pretty excited! Thanks....

We'll be on the Elation next week - I'll post a review for you when we get back. I'm really looking forward to GT as well. Always nice to go somewhere few others have been.
