NCL Sun - Last minute booking - need help fast

Considering booking the NCL Sun for May 20...inside (Cat II) $2733 including port and tax for 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 8) I'm hoping all you experienced Alaska cruisers can tell me if this is a good deal? good ship? good itinerary (Seattle, Ketchikan, Juneau, Sawyer, Skagway)?

 

I've been to Alaska on HAL Oosterdam last Sept and enjoyed it. I'm looking for a relaxed, hassle free experience where my kids can have a good time in the kids program, while my dh and I get some much needed R&R...will I find this on NCL?

 

I have to make a decision fast, as my hold expires tomorrow at noon. TIA

We went 2 years ago on the Sun. I really don't remember what we paid, but the pricing sounds reasonable. We thought the Sun was a marvelous ship. My kids were too old for the kids club, but the majority of the posts on the NCL boards rate the kids programs quite high.

 

The itinerary has changed since we went, but we stopped at Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway also. Enjoyed all of the ports. If you decide to go, check out the Tracy Arm/Sawyer Glacier expedition that you can only book through NCL. It was the highlight of our cruise!

 

Let me know if you have any more specific questions. It was our kids (ages 20 & 18) first cruise and they LOVED it.

Right now, on Celebrity's happy hour special, the southbound alaska tour on 5/20 is offered at $599/pp with 3rd/4th pax at $399 - for Ocean View. For a little more, you can go northbound (5/27 sailing) where I know there will be some kids your age (mine!)
