ladysheri Posted April 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2006 Seattle cruises leave from 2 widely separated piers. What ship are you sailing on?
SeaTeacher Posted April 22, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2006 If anyone knows of any hotels around the peir please let me know. Closest to Pier 66 (Celebrity, NCL) is the Marriott Waterfront which is literally across the street. A 5 mintue walk from the pier is the Edgewater Hotel - it's literally ON the water because it's built on a pier. Down near Pier 30 (Princess, HAL) is the Pioneer Square Hotel (A Best Western) And the Alexis Hotel. But none of these are within walking distance. Pier 30 is in an industrial/port neighborhood and requires taking a 5 minutes taxi ride to the closest hotels in Pioneer Square or the southern section of Downtown. Other hotels downtown include: Expensive - the Sheraton (currently undergoing renovation and an addition) the Fairmount Olympic, the Rennaisance, The Elliott Grand Hyatt, and the Hilton. Moderate - The Red Lion, Paramount, Spring Hill Suites, and the Warwick. Inexpensive - the Sixth Avenue Inn. Cheap - The Kings Inn Motel. These are all away from the waterfront and range from locations on the northern edge to the heart of downtown. Quality does correspond with cost. Hikini Posted April 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2006 If you don't mind spending a little, (or quite a little) I would recommend staying at the Edgewater, which is RIGHT by pier 66 where NCL docks. The hotel guests often are out on their decks waving as the ships depart Seattle around 4pm each Saturday and Sunday. There is a famous picture of the Beatles fishing from their room at the Edgewater in the 1960's. It's a great hotel and you cannot get any closer to the pier 66 building than that. Have fun!
