Hi! I'm sailing on the Miracle April 30, 2006. I really enjoy reading the reviews from everyone.

I need to gather some last minute advice from the recent cruisers.

Nick & Nora--Want to try, I'm thinking about Tuesday night (this will give me a chance have dinner in the dining room two nights). Also, I want to make sure that Tuesday is not a formal night. Also, what are the hours for Nick & Nora. When you come on the ship on Sunday, where do you go for reservations?

Rivera Deck-- I'm assigned a room near the disco. Anyone stayed in this area and can you offer info on noise?

Waterslide--Ok I admit it, I'm a big kid at heart. I want to try this, but is the slide open on the Miracle?? From reading some of the postings, on some ships it's open, on others it's not.

Bar Hop--I was reviewing some daily programs and noticed that the CD had a bar hop one night. Sounds fun. Are they still doing this?

Afternoon Tea--This is also something I loved from sailing on HAL ships. Can I get some more info. Do they offer Earl Grey??

Any other suggestions and advice is most welcome!!

I can answer a few of your questions. We were on the Miracle the last week of March.

Tuesday night is not a formal night so it would be a good night for Nick and Nora's. We didn't go there so I can't comment on it otherwise.

The waterslide was open.

They did the bar hop but we didn't participate. My 15 y/o daughter saw them and thought they looked like they were having fun.

Hi Airlink Diva,

For Nick & Nora's, you'll find on the first day or two people standing in the lobby atrium or near the photographers, casino, etc. promoting N&N's. They'll tell you about the menu and direct you upstairs to make reservations.

To make reservations, go straight upstairs to the restaurant. They'll tell you everything you need to know. We were even able to pick out which table we wanted. We booked our N&N night shortly after boarding. You get your table for the entire night, so there's no rush to eat & run. (I think our dinner was close to 3 hours all together.)

It's well worth the money if you're anything like me and enjoy fine dining with your SO. :D

Enjoy!

The only day I recall there being an afternoon tea was Saturday when were at sea. I don't have my capers, so I imagine that there might have been one Monday as well.

I just checked my capers and yes, tea time was Monday and Saturday (sea days) at 3:30 in Jeeves Lounge.

We were on the Rivera deck pretty near the disco. Cabin 1265 which is the last cabin on the hall, directly opposite the disco. I never heard a sound from the disco, even when we were out in the hall. I think they must use very good sound insulation.

The only noise we noticed is occasionally you'd hear the door the crew uses to go into the galley close. That door was right next to our room. But it wasn't a problem for us. I didn't hear noises from the galley itself as far as I recall.

I liked that location. It's very near the aft elevators, and the aft elevators are usually not very busy, except at dinner time. And the dining room is only 1 deck up, so walking up one deck to go to dinner is no hardship.

They will also be at the bottom of the floating staircase, and they will have the samples of the cuts of meat/food you will be eating.

Worth it to try at least once, just for the experience.

Nick & Noras- you can visit the hostess that will be in the atrium when you first board., you can call the place and make a reservation or you can go directly up to supper club and be able to pick out your own table.

We went on Thursday - -hardly anyone was there that night.

First reservation is at 6pm and last is taking for 10pm.

Riveria deck-- notice on the deck plan that there is a white area around the disco-- its soundproof. It has a revolving door access is on the main deck. Even the door is soundproof- you wont hear nothing at all outside the disco until you are in the place.

Bar crawl depends on the cruise director and social host. We had ours first night at 10:30pm

Afternoon tea is always on sea days at 3:30 watch the capers for place.

Choc buffet is last sea day at 12:30-2pm in the buffet area.

If you can only see one of the musical shows-- Ticket to Ride is a Not to be missed one/.

Thanks! I'm in room 1257. I look at the deck plans and that room is across the hall two rooms up. I just noticed that the room is near an elevator. This is something I never wanted, but at the price :) !! I know to use this set of elevators as my primary ones. Also with the dining room being one deck up, I can leave my room at dining time to avoid the rush when the doors first open.

Thanks for the afternoon tea info, I hate that it's only offered on sea days. I sometimes come back early from shore and enjoy tea.

I can't believe that I forgot about the chocolate buffet!! I'm glad that it's during the day! On my last trip cruises, I was at midnight. The first time I missed it and the second time, I had to take a quick nap so I could go.

The bar crawl on the first night is a good idea, since Monday's a sea day and you have all day to recover :D :D !!

I love this website because of all the great infomation, ideas and suggestions. Keep them coming!! Thanks

Just checked my Capers and the "World Tour Bar Hop" was on MONDAY night at 10:00. That kinda stinks for people who have late seating, especially since it's the 1st formal night. Maybe it'll be on a different night or a later time for your cruise.

I was on the same cruise with Heidi. I wanted to do the bar hop, but we got out of our late seating dinner a little later than usual that night and the bar hop had already started. We found them in the piano bar, but decided not to join in at that point (they had already been to one bar). If you want to do this, I would make sure you get to the meeting place on time in order to thoroughly enjoy it.

you are confusing the choc buffet with the grand gala buffet. THese are two diffent things.

One is a grand buffet with carved out foods and fruits and awesome looking cakes and desserts. Served midnight on the second formal night. the other is a choc buffet served during lunch on the buffet line.
