Best Rate Received on Back to Back Cruise

When you find out let me know.:) I did not get any "special" rates for my btb that is coming up in Dec. That could be because I am cruising over New Year's Eve. The second week rates were really good though - but it was because of the time of year - not because I was doing a btb.

Ive been reading that they give you a good rate on the second cruise.
Not necessarily. More often than not, it's no different than what a stand-alone cruise would run for the same week.

Im taking btbtb cruises next nov-dec and all i got was a Carnival Valor and a Carnival Destiny brochure (Destiny´s was out of date by the way lol) not even the Carnival´s presentation video, i had to borrow it, burn it in a dvd and then send it back to them...

At least they gave me a cup of coffee when i paid the cruises.

OH, now i remember, they only gave me as a gift the Transportation from Miami International Airport to the port, with a great cover price of 30 SMACKERS, i laughed and i said, i spent over 8 thousand dollars and you only give me the transportation to the pier, which im pretty sure has no air conditioning, and ill have to wait till the bus get packed. GEEZ, YOU CARNIVAL PEOPLE ARE GENEROUS, IMMA GET ANOTHER COUPLE OF CRUISES NEXT YEAR WITH YOU, WAIT FOR MY CALL :D :D :D

sorry about caps

I am just Curious of you people who do the btb cruise.

After first cruise is over do you have to disembark or can you stay on ship and what about the Luggage does it stay in your cabin:confused:

If you are taking btb cruises on the same ship you dont have to disembark, they will know that you will be there for 2 cruises, so you will have the same stateroom for both cruises.

You will have the same S&S card and on disembarkation day, you can get out of the ship, take a tour and go back, because you already checked in the first time for both cruises. What i really dont know, and i would like to know is if the S&S account, has to be paid after each cruise or you just pay it for the 2 weeks expenses at the end of the 2nd cruise

If it is a separate cruise, you should get two cruises' worth of credit toward your platinum status.

Plus, the second week you are a past guest!

That is correct, you are a past guest in the second cruise, but you have no chance of taking a past guest sale or discount, because at the time of your booking, you are not a past guest, what i have been told, is that in the second cruise, you will be able to assist to the Past Guest Captain Party and drink Carnival´s free champagne :D :D :D

to have the same cabin it has to be booked that way-- if booking a gurantee you may have to pack up and move-- but the cabin steward helps you to do that.

You go through the pursers desk on the last morning.. you will get a second sign and sail card for the second week.. the first one you will be using to clear yourself from the first weeks cruise. (tip accordingly for the first week as your staff may be different the second week)

Each cruise is treated as a seperate week. Your sign and sail bill will be paid the last day just like it was if it was one week.

the pursers desk takes your off the ship to clear you then bring you back on. You have the ship to all yourself til about noon.

Your shows, entertainment and your menus will all be the same the second week.

Ive been reading that they give you a good rate on the second cruise. Just wondering what any of you may have gotten 2 back to back 7 day cruises on Carnival for. Thanks!:)

Hey Live2Cruise30, we bump into each other again! I can't remember but didn't you cruise with Carnival before? They are offering what is supposed to be their "Biggest Sale Ever" this Thursday. If you provide your e-mail address I can forward the e-mail we got. I am not sure if it would apply to the Valor cruise in December but it would be worth checking into!

We booked back to back on the Glory in Jan. of 07. We did not get a reduced rate on the second week. We were told we would be escorted off the ship after the first week to a private area and then we get a new sail and sign card and be able to reboard.

I have cruised with Carnival twice before.

Cub daddy... Hello! My email is christiemorgan@cableone.net if you wouldn't mind sending me the "sale" email... I would appreciate it.

Well like I said all... guess it was too good to be true but in my opinion 2 weeks away from chaos is worth just about any amount of money.

Back to backs are a bad idea. Think of it- the excitement of boarding a new to you ship won't be there, plus the entertainment will be the same.

My mom did it and was bored to tears for these reasons.

If you want to cruise two weeks, why not book the 2nd cruise on a different ship or, better yet, a different cruise line, like Princess of RCL?

YES I DID.........

I talked with two different people......

They both said :you will need to get off the ship......

One said to be the last person off.............

So I got off the ship went through customs.........

Went on out of the building and got inline

to reboard....................

I went back into the building,I was moved to the

front of the line, first to get back on the ship............

Makes no sense to me,,,,,,,,,I understand I have to

go through customs....I wish one of the Purser's staff

would walk off with me,go through customs and then

turn around and get back on the ship............

Oh well it takes about two hours...........

I don't think back to back are bad ideals..........

I want to go on the CELEBRATION,,,,,So five nights

aren't long enough,,,,,,so that's the reason I do a BTB.....

So I'll be on the ship ten nights...........

I cruise for the ship,,,,not where it goes..........

The two weeks I'll be on the CCELEBRATION, I'll be

going to KEY WEst and NASSUA...........

As far as the shows, what I don;t see the first week,,

I catch the second week..........

I have looked at maybe going on two different ships........

But,I really do'nt want to go to miami..........

I believe the Back to Back cruises became popular in the 80's when the lines used to have ships doing a rotating 7 day, first to the Eastern Caribbean and then to the Western Caribbean. At that time one line called them "Butterfly" Cruises and we took several of them. The second cruise was always at a discount. Not sure if this is tru anymore but it is a good idea if you want to do both. Staying in the same cabin is a plus as long as you are happy with your initial choice!

b2b are not for everyone! We are looking forward to it, though as we have a 9A on the Glory and plan to spend most of our time on the balcony. I don't care if the food and the shows are the same - I go on a cruise to just kick back and relax!
