Tikibird Posted April 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2006 So far, I have only seen people booking this tour through the ship for $44 per person. I did a bit of Googling and found out that the actual Petit Train ticket costs 1100 XPF which is about $16 Aussie. So is there anything that makes it necessary to book it through the ship? Like is it so far from the ship you would need a taxi to get there otherwise? Is it chartered to P&O so no one else can use it? Has anyone else ever done this in their own? Just seems to be a steep mark-up.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted April 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2006 When we did it a few years ago.It left and returned from the wharf, and it appeared to be fully booked out that day by people from the ship.
rockie Posted April 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2006 We did the booked one and we were glad we did as we spoke to people that had just done the other one, no commentary and no champers and pattieries at the top. It is well worth the commentary. It left from the wharf area and there are English speaking guides to show you where to go. Just ask and someone will point you in the right direction. Tikibird Posted April 25, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted April 25, 2006 Oh, so you do get something extra if you do the booked one. Commentary, champange and pastries? The cheap one is just transportation, like a bus?
