Pictures in or near water

I have had many people ask me how our pictures turned out so nice in the water so I thought I'd post what we used.

I bought an aquapac. It is a waterproof bag that you can work any digital camera inside of. They cost around $30 online.

I was a little skeptical when I bought it and was scared to put my camera in it in the water.

It really worked great. It was completely watertight, took clear, great pictures and floated.

This last feature really came in handy while cave tubing in Belize. I actually went over a few small rapids and didn't have the strap around my neck. I didn't even realize it was gone for about a minute..but it floated right to my husband who was behind me. He rather enjoyed watching me freak out while he hid the camera..LOL.

Anyway..almost ALL my pictures were taken through this bag. I only took it out while on the ship. Other than that I used my camera in the bag. Feel free to take a look at them

I will never travel without it again. I hate disposable water camera.

Thanks for the tip on the Aquapac. I am definitely going to look into one of those for our camera. We have always used disposable underwater cameras in the past but we were never entirely pleased with the results. This case should remedy that!

If you're just talking about keeping your camera dry or for taking pictures while snorkeling on top of the water, you're probably ok with the Aquapac. However, if you plan on going down several feet, I don't believe a product like Aquapac is designed to help the camera with the pressure of being underwater (like an underwater housing). Just my .02.

Thanks,

it worked for me well on snorkel excursions on the Sea...one thing I learned is when you insert the camera, press out some air before you lock it shut/seal it. If you do not, it is inflated and difficult of press buttons or change settings. You will see what I mean when you try it at home.

look down the thread posted below and see a picture taken with in at Princess Cays on a cloudy day and the water was very murky..
