joedi Posted May 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2006 After our Alaska cruise, which docks in Vancouver, we're going to spend a couple of days in Victoria. Best way to get from there to there? Thanks.
Momj47 Posted May 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2006 BC Ferries is the best way to get to Vancouver Island, though you'll need to rent a car to get there. It's a nice trip. We did it after our Alaska cruise. You sail from Vancouver - Victoria (Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay) . We made reservations well in advance. We got there early and were able to take an earlier ferry. Victoria and Vancouver Island are very nice. You'll have to get back to Vancouver the same way. If you are going to Seattle, there's another ferry, the Coho Ferry that leaves from Victoria to Port Angeles, WA. It's not a long drive to Seattle and it's very scenic. Have a great trip. jjeffjb Posted May 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2006 According to Frommers guide book, it's 12 miles from the crusie ship dock to the BC Ferry in Vancouver. A taxi would seem the easiest way to go. That's our plan.
EDMOND Posted May 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2006 Take the Bus system, first on, first off, stops at Empress Hotel Victoria, no reservation other than bus ticket. Check out the transit system Vancouver to Victoria.

cruise sojourner Posted May 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2006 Here's the web site for Pacific Coach Lines. It has a schedule and shows departure and arrival points in Vancouver and Victoria. http://www.pacificcoach.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Home.main
jjeffjb Posted May 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2006 I've done some research and have found the following. Grey line only does tours. If you're looking for transportation only, Pacific Coach Lines picks up at the cruise port at 11:00 AM daily and provides transportation via bus and ferry to Victoria. I was quoted $41.50 one way to downtown Victoria.
Sopwith Posted May 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 8, 2006 Alternatively, you could take a 5 minute cab ride to the bus terminal, and then take a Pacific Coach Lines bus to Victoria from there. They have buses on every ferry sailing, every hour during the summer.
Rare Gardyloo Posted May 9, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2006 Alternatively, fly on scheduled floatplane service from Canada Place straight to the Inner Harbour in Victoria. Fast and fun. http://www.harbour-air.com.
