Precoria Posted June 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2004 We will be staying here on Jan 14-15 before our cruise on Serenade. I heard the hotel is fabulous. Does anyone have photos or stories about their stay? How about some recommendations for dinner? Thanks!
Precoria Posted July 6, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted July 6, 2004 I can't believe no one has stayed here.
BJS Posted July 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2004 We stayed there in March. Had a great senior rate. Hotel was nice. Had ocean view high floor. Arrived after the dinner hour and boarded the ship the next day. Breakfast was good. Didn't take any photos of the hotel. Beach was very crowded but had loungers and looked like a lot of "beach boys". Very lively in the evening on the street floor. Sorry can't be of more help. pholter Posted July 10, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2004 We booked this one for a post cruise stay since we'd be able to enjoy the entire day and night there. It looks awesome!
cowtec Posted July 17, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2004 We stayed there in April for a night. Really liked the hotel. Because we got in late, we went to the buffet for dinner - the food wasn't bad and there was a band playing outside, so the atmosphere was really nice. Our room overlooked the beach - it is a small beach but wasn't terribly crowded. The room was very nice. We had room service breakfast the next morning - again, the food was pretty good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We didn't have enough time to go sightseeing, so we decided to walk along the beach for a bit. To access the beach from the hotel, you need a wristband - security is pretty good there. There are beachboys on the beach - you can get chairs, loungers, and umbrellas. Just inside the hotel property there is an outside bar - there were quite a few people there, but we didn't stop. Lots of kids in the pool but not overpowering. The casino was practically empty - I don't know whether that is good or bad. If we were returning to San Juan, we would stay at this property again without any hesitation. I hope that helps!!! 2BCruising Posted March 24, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2005 We stayed at the San Juan Marriott for pre- and post-cruise back in November 2004. Had a wonderful time at the hotel. For pre-cruise, we were in a ocean view room (tower building). For post-cruise, we were in an oceanfront room (also in the tower building). Both rooms were very nice, quiet, and clean. Also, there's a safe in the room. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurants. There are plenty of dining options (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on Ashford Ave. BTW, check out under the Ports of Call section - San Juan, PR. There are plenty of discussions around the San Juan Marriott - Condado and places to dine. Susan
