Night tours in St. Petersburg

I am deciding between the Imperial Evening tour at Catherine's Palace in St. Petersburg or the folk show. We are going on the Star Princess and will be taking the 2 day Grand Tour. Any recommendations on which night tour would be? How is the folk show different from the one they perform on the ship?
