johnzh Posted June 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Okay, I have to ask this question out of idle curiosity. I hope that Randy will answer before removing this thread. I am new to cruising, but I have been lurking these boards long enough to have read about the "Kelly Method" of finding your guarantee cabin #. I just today read that discussing that topic is against the rules because it undermines Carnival's system. But I don't understand how it undermines Carnival's system. My understanding of the Kelly Method is that it simply allows you to find out your cabin # in advance. What's so wrong with that? Sorry if asking this question violates the rules. It just drives me nuts when I don't understand something!
serene56 Posted June 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2004 When you get a bunch of people monopolizing carnival web page for hours on end trying to find their cabins that is what the Kelly method does. Carnival has shut that down for a time a few months ago from the people trying to figure out the cabin number. Trying to find your cabin takes time and when a bunch of people are online at the same time trying to do this..the people that want to get on and buy stuff cant. kristikae Posted June 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Though I can't speak for Carnival, I believe it has something to do with security issues. Bottom line is they have asked us to not allow this and we are complying with their wishes.
