beljwl Posted May 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2006 I know this may be a stupid question but I rather ask a stupid question then be sorry I didn't. We will be in Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan next week. I know it is still on the cool side but do I need to take sunscreen? will I get sunburned if I am not wearing it? Thanks
Budget Queen Posted May 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2006 I always take sunscreen. Takes up little room and it can get very sunny.
kyriecat Posted May 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2006 I always burn faster at higher altitudes such as in the mountains than at home, but I live practically at sea level. Also, glaciers and snow reflect sunlight that can also lead to burns. It's always better to have sunscreen on than deal with the results of a burn. caribbean dreams Posted May 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2006 I would take it just incase you may feel you need it. The whole time i lived in Alaska the only time i would get a tan, burn or anything else was at the tanning booth. Don't forget the sunglasses, the snow gets really bright.
