cruzeluver Posted May 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2006 I read yesterday on a travel web site that the Majesty has no stabilizers, is this true? I have a hard time believing this. I've been on ships much older then this one that did have stabiliziers. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!!
Djptcp Posted May 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2006 DH and I sailed on the Majesty several years ago and did not notice any lack of stabilizers and there were rough seas one day. I can't confirm yes or no, though, just personal experience. Two weeks ago we sailed on the Carnival Celebration and it definitely has stabilizers, but it was very rough going during the day at sea and the crew put out the seasick bags. One had to be careful walking around that day. smeyer418 Posted May 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2006 Remember that stabilizers only affect the ships roll from side to side not the up and down pitch. I looked to see if it had stabilzers and couldn't find a report that says that it had them but I can't imagine any modern ship built without them and it was built way after they were normally installed on cruise ships. Ralphinsc Posted May 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2006 It does have them. But since the Majesty IS a smaller ship, you may notice the up and down a bit more.
