4/30/06-5/7/06 Miracle mini review

Recommended Posts

I was just on the Carnival Miracle. I had a good time!! I'm going to write a detail review, but decided to do this mini review first.

Boarding--Was on the ship in about a hour. Arrived at 11:20 a.m. on board about 12:30 p.m. The Carnival reps very fast in processing.

Cabin--I was in room 1257 on the Rivera deck. Inside room. Travel solo, plenty of space for all my items. Never felt any movement!! Room near Aft elevator and Galley employee entrance. Only noice I heard was from people in the cabin next door when they slammed the door or the lound talkers in the hallway. Otherwise 98% very quiet. Beds are very heavenly. For some reason, the only non Carnival channel that the ship picked up was Denver, Colorado stations go figure that one.

Fellow Passengers--Good mixed of people. Familes groups, solos, couples, groups of friends, etc. No lound rude people.

Children on Board-- Most likey about 80 to 100. No running in the hallways. On sea day, saw children with parents. Disco closed every night for a block of time for the pre-teens to enjoy. In the eveing time, one small section of the dining room closed for the camp Carnival kids to eat. Very well mannered group (only problem with rude kids in one port, Belize, parents had no control !!).

Bacchus Dining Room-- Had late seating (8:15 p.m.) table 369. Only five of the six came to dinner. Good table and really enjoyed my tablemates. Dining staff very good, but busy!! Both were great!! Left them something extra for the great service!!!

The food was good, tried some items that I would never try at home. Only night that I got two entrees was lobster night when I got the Prime Rib also.

Lido--Great food everyday, esp the Asian section. Also the pizza was great!! I had to monitor myself of the ice cream, very addictive!! Also enjoyed the steak sandwiches!! Sushi line always busy. Never purchase a soda, drank alot of water and fruit punch.

Cruise Director--Our CD, was a riot!! The best one I had on any ship!!

Shows--Only went to a few shows, they ranged from good to o.k. What I didn't like was not having a show at 10:30 p.m. everynight, esp on the port days. Shows for late seating at 7:00 p.m.

Crew--Overall, very friendly. Smiles and quick to answer questions.

Tendering--I read horror stories about this, but compared to my cruise on another line last year, the tendering was great on the Miracle. In both cases (Belize and Caymans) able to get on and off with no problems. In fact, I got on and off the boat in the Caymans three times with no wait!!

Chairs on Deck-- Even with a full boat, was able to find a chair coming up late (10 a.m.) on both sea days. The ones by the Lido pool were full, but even then, chairs came available.

Casino and Bingo--Since I worked at Casino for 10 years, I know the score. I played $10 and left once it was gone. Only played Bingo once. The win a cruise game. The woman who won it was jump and screaming all over the place. A cruise highlight and you had to be there to see it!!

Ports--The cruiselines are rotating the only dock in Cozumel and we lucked out and docked. Only tender in Belize and Caymans. In each port (expect for Caymans with three ships) only one other ship in that day. Nice weather, but water was cooler than I expected.

Well, that's all for now, look for a full review later

I agree with airlink. I was on the Miracle in April and had pretty much the same comments. I thought the water was cooler than I expected also, but not uncomfortably so. This was in all 3 ports...our Costa Maya was cancelled due to rough waters

Thanks for the review...I'll be on the Miracle 6/4-11...can't wait. Booked our first balcony room and from what I've read, glad we did.

My question is pertaining to the shows at night. Did I read it right? The shows for late diners is at 7pm before dinner? What time is the alternate show? Must get real crowded cause the early diners might go to that one also. The other show is prob while the late diners are eating therefore less crowded. You said the shows were just Ok..I read that the Beatles Review Show was awesome...Not so??? Thanks.

I enjoyed the Beatles show. Just be ready for the "Beatles" to be Asian. They were very good and the show was colorful, creative and fast-moving. Some of the other shows were not, and being so exhausted after a full day of activities and a nice umbrella drink, well, ok, I admit it...I dozed!:o

I also enjoyed the "Generations" show. It highlighted the different genres of music throughout the years and how music has changed. Stayed awake for this one too. :D
