maynovmom Posted May 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Does anyone know the most recent Delta situaiton? I have booked a cruise for next spring and have skymiles saved from Delta. This spring was a close call for us although a strike would have impacted our return flight not the departing flight into FLL. Any news on their future (immediate and into 2007) would be helpful.. I usually book airlines very early and need to jump on this by the end of the month. Right now they show great direct flights and prices aren't too bad considering fuel issues. Whaty do you think? Should I continue to fly with them?
mrdood Posted May 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Maybe try posting on the Delta airlines flight site... No more or less risk than the stock market, why worry:confused: I wonder if the place I get my haircut will still be in business when I get my pre-cruise trim for next year... maynovmom Posted May 13, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 13, 2006 That was my own thought. I just wondered if anyone had heard anything more on the airline's future. Did the pilots ratify a contract and if so for how long? That's really what I was trying to figure out. It got very quiet after the decision not to strike in April. hawaiideb Posted May 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2006 There's lots of information for frequent flyers there. Delta and the pilots reached an agreement and the union reps approved it for a vote which was the last I heard. I think things are smooth flying for our friends at Delta for now. SheltieLady Posted May 14, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2006 Pilots will vote by May 31st if they agree the new contract will start June 1st. Hope this helps we are booked with Delta for our cruise in January. Christine
