Bermudalou Posted May 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2006 Has anyone gone to Somerset longbay beach in Sandys parrish or Somerset Village? We'll be docking at Kings Wharf for only 1 day in July. Although we've been to Bermuda many times, our visits to this part of Bermuda have been limited to the Dockyards. BermudaLou
blueberry Posted May 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Somerset Longbay is exactly that - a very long shallow bay. It is very pretty and practically deserted. The sand is lovely and there is some shade but the water is shallow and there is alot of sea grass. There are no facilities although there are shops in the village -including a delightful little deli that was very reasonable. This is the quiet end of Bermuda. If you are game it is a nice area to rent a moped- the traffic is light, roads relatively straight and not too far from the Dockyards. There is the chapel and trust, Fort Scar (never clear about the spelling) the village of Somerset and a number of quaint beaches and neighborhoods to explore. Bermudalou Posted May 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Many thanks for the info on longbay beach. Maybe not the best beach choice, but still an interesting option!
