nancycoop1 Posted May 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2006 Has anyone taken GCT's extension in Bucharest? We are planning to do this after our cruise in September and would love to hear the opinions of others who had done this. Also - I have heard that the shopping is very inexpensive in Bulgaria - any experiences with this? Thanks Nancy
Carhut Posted May 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2006 We didn't take the Transylvania post tour last year. According to my notes, in Bulgaria we left about 8:30 a.m. for an all day tour. This took us to Veliko Tarnovo where we had about an hour to shop the little stores. Yes, the shopping was really reasonable. Could have used more time there but....... Then we were taken to the town of Arbanassi. Here we had a most wonderful meal seated outside the restaurant in a nice setting. After lunch we went to visit an old orthodox church and near there we had another shopping spree. It was in one building and it was mostly ceramic items. That was the extent of my shopping in Bulgaria. We arrived back at the ship about 5 p.m.
