mariakitty Posted May 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2006 These are fantastic webcams! Thanks so much for posting - I had a fairly extensive list of web cams a few years ago and they got lost when my computer crashed. :) Maria
mariakitty Posted May 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2006 This isn't really a webcam, but I found a website of the Southampton pier with excellent arial pictures of the pier, including berth numbers. The pictures give a nice perspective on Southampton and you can even see some of the hotels in the area. http://www.solentwaters.co.uk/Solent%20Ports/Solent%20Ports%201/page5.html
Nickwolf Posted May 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2006 I like it! HERE is a webcam from my town. It is taken from our local government offices and looks out over a rather drab bridge crossing the River Severn and onto the town. Perhaps I should organise a live appearance waving to everyone on it :D Nick.

Nickwolf Posted May 21, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 21, 2006 Shrewsbury is generally agreed to be a very nice place but unfortunately we are a little bit land locked to be of interest to many cruisers. Nick.
glaswurst Posted May 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Greetings from St. Louis, Missouri! Here are a few more contributions: Chicken web-cam from Weston-Super- Mare; Chinchilla-cam from Bristol and a lovely beach-cam (lens in serious need of wiping-off) in Cornwall. Makes me want to cancel the upcoming Alaskan cruise and travel in the opposite direction! Diane OurChickens.com Sleepychinchilla.com Newquay.hotels.com.uk PS--Not being terribly computer-savvy, I tried to drag these sites over but with no results. Any suggestions on how to do that so the rest of you will only have to point and click?

Mim Lloyd Posted April 27, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 27, 2007 This site gives you webcams of Liverpool and the surrounding areas, plus virtual rides over Liverpool in a helicopter amongst others. Liverpool is in the process of expanding it's cruise terminal to accommodate more ships, and larger ones too so Liverpool will probably start to appear on more itineraries in the next year or two. http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/virtual_tours/index.shtml

Post Captain Posted April 29, 2007 #17 Share Posted April 29, 2007 Shrewsbury is generally agreed to be a very nice place but unfortunately we are a little bit land locked to be of interest to many cruisers. Nick. Nick, Thanks for posting the link to the Shrewsbury webcam. I've spent a fair amount of time in your fine town; visited it about a dozen times or so. A good friend of mine lives out toward Newport/Telford way. (Around the Wrekin, as you might say!) Landlocked you may be, but I do love the riverside walk. And the Severn does flow down to the sea (well, at least into the Bristol Channel) eventually.:) Cheers, John PS. Do YOU pronounce it Shrewsbury or Shrozebury? Just curious--I've heard both. Post Captain Posted April 29, 2007 #18 Share Posted April 29, 2007 Hi, not a web cam but a nice part of the County and my little old town. www.stamford.co.uk Forest, Small world. I'm originally from Stamford, Connecticut, USA--named for your Stamford, & twinned with it, I believe. Have only been to your Stamford once, many years ago. Walked out to Burghley House--a nice piece of property indeed!;) The Welland may be less impressive than the Severn, but it is lovely & keeps you connected to the sea, after a fashion! Cheers, John
forest_ Posted May 4, 2007 #19 Share Posted May 4, 2007 Stamford is a charming little stone town, with some great pubs and hotels and lots to see in the country side. Well worth coming back to. I am glad you liked.
