We will be cruising to Bridgetown and we would like to have some beaches recomended to us.

We are looking for a beach that is VERY pretty, easily accessible, VERY clean, not to expensive to enter the beach, rent a chair or umbrella, has rest rooms, a restaurant would be nice, not to rocky of an entry into the water, just an all-around LOVELY beach.....:D

ANY, suggestions and reccomendations WILL be MOST APPRECIATED....!!!icon14.gif

THANK YOU....!!!!:)

Everything you have just described is what you'll find at the Boatyard. The Beach and Sea are awesome!!! Just a short distance from the main town. We paid $12.00 each and oooooooooo boy was it worth it!!! You get a free beach chair with that and a FREE cocktail!! Ieie what a way to start your day!! If you want a umbrella, extra $2 bucks, but wats 2 bucks. They have washrooms and showers, loaded bar and outdoor restaurant on a deck. The food was good too. Have a great time!!!!:)

Thank You for your quick answer...!!!:)

How far is Boatyard Beach from where the cruise ships dock?

What should the cab ride cost?

Will we be able to get a cab back to the docks easily?

Is this a popular place for cruisers? I got a kick in February deciphering all the different cruise ships at each port by everyone's towels....:D

Thanks again...!!!icon14.gif

Hi Suesan Jean:D

When we went on the Dawn in 2004, we took the NCL Shore Excursion to Malibu Beach. An Air-conditioned bus picked us up at the pier,we got wristbands and a coupon for one drink. There was an out-door Bar-b-que that smelled delicious., but was not included in the tour we chose.(although we could have purchased lunch if we wanted)Clean rest rooms

and changing rooms and a small gift shop.

It is a private beach .

Everyone got a beach chair and umbrella, and the water was beautiful:)

In 2005, we were on the Golden Princess and took the Jolly Rodger tour to a public beach.Although the water was nice, women with oils kept trying to oil us:eek: and braid our hair. The Jolly Rodger was fun :D

If you want a beautiful crescent shaped beach with facilities available and a small shopping center across the street try Accra Beach. People discouraged us from going there but we found it wonderful last February. Many Europeans were vacationing there with no one from our ship. We are going back this winter and this will be the beach we go to.

I'm another one who is going to throw in a vote for the Boatyard. We were there in Mid October and had a great time. Friendly people, great beach, great location, ice cold beer.... what more could one want

I seem to remember paying $15pp to get in, and that included your frist drink and your chair. Umbrella's were extra I think. The cost of taxi's back and forth were innexpensive and easy to get. The taxi's hang in the parking lot of the Boatyard so getting back to the boat is a breeze. I think the taxi ride might be 10 minutes tops.

If you end up going to the Boatyard you wont be disappointed. It's a good time for all ages, and be brave and try the rope swing :D
