TheBar1 Posted May 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I was wondering if anyone knows if there are free wi-fi hotspots in Bermuda. According to my search of this board, there were pay-per-use internet cafes around the island in 2004, but I'm wondering if free wireless internet has cuaght on there at all since then. Thanks, Justin
Pleiades Posted May 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I've done a little war walking around with my pda and found that there are many unsecured hotspots that can be exploited in Hamilton. There are even a few spots where the hotspot is intended for public use. I know there are several computer stores with free hotspots and probably many of the hotels; I know 9 Beaches has a network you can pick up about 0.4 miles (2000 feet) away. I was even able to check my email from several supermarkets. Driving down Front Street I pick up dozens of networks, I’m not sure how many of them are available for public use however. TheBar1 Posted May 25, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2006 Thanks, Pleiades. Sounds like it will be worth the trouble to bring my laptop ashore and see how i make out when I'm there in September. :)
