Appropriate time for Dinner and show

I would give at least 2 hours to eat dinner, after you are seated. That would be 7:30 pm after you have sat at your table. 7:00 to 8:00 is prime dinner time, therefore you should set aside another 30 minutes for waiting in line. So, you should be in line for dinner before 7:00 pm to get a good seat for the 9:30 pm show.

If it were me I would probably make it even a little earlier, so we have time to enjoy an after dinner drink before the show. Also allow time to get to the theater and find a good seat before they are all taken. We never seem to rush anywhere on a cruise, it's a time to take your time and relax.....at least for us.

What we do and seems to work well for us... Have a big lunch, a mid-afternoon snack, go to the early show and have dinner later. It is past prime eating time and easier to get a table.. This worked very well for us on our past 2 Dawn cruises and our "game plan" for our up-coming Spirit cruise.

Logcabin has one good idea, so does Margaret. It depends on what ship you are on. We ususally eat about 7pm, have an after dinner drink or head to the casino for an hour or less; we still have plenty of time for the show. Logcabin suggested a late lunch; we have done that, maybe hit the tapa bar, if there is one for appitizers and after the show, instead of a full dinner we would have fish and chips or a sandwhich. We will do this, maybe once furing the cruise or eat really early, do some activities until the show: do the show, hit the casino and then stay around for the lite buffet offered in the casino from 11pm on. This is the whole secret of freestyle; you can do something different each night just like being in Vegas or a resort. NMNita

If you want to go to a 9:30 show. What time would you make your dinner reservations?

Just got off the Dawn 5/27; dinner for 2, took less than 1.5 hrs in the main restaurants and we usually went 7:30 PM to make the 9:30 show and dinner was 2 hrs in Le Bistro with a 6:30 reservation. We never had a wait but this was not during school vacation time.

Several nights there was only 1 show and it was at 9:30 PM.

Last year we were a group of six and dinners took longer, so we planned dinner at 7 PM on the nights we wanted to attend the 9:30 shows.
