Do P & O still provide a band and streamers for sailings from Southampton on Arcadia ?

Hello PAULNJILL. Yes, the band is still there. The band we had on the Oriana on the 20th May was a police band and they were terrific. Great sendoff.

The streamers are no longer with us I'm afraid, enviromentally unfriendly. We all miss them.

The two day Arcadia cruise in April had a band to send us on our way.

 

Given the whistle on Arcadia, probably a useful benefit!

In stead of sreamers you get flags to wave. Oh, and you can buy champagne at a "special price".

Sailaway champagne was £2.90 a glass last week on Arcadia.

 

We didn't get flags at Southampton at Sailaway, just the band, and hoots off the funnel, At our first port sailaway- Maderia , we were given our flags, had disco music, and great fun waving to Legend of the Seas, which was berthed next to us. Did mexican waves with the flags, and sang rule brittiana, then new york, new york to them! They waved back at us too.

 

Any questions about Arcadia just ask. Loved her so much , going to The Med (Rome, Barcelona, Pisa etc) Next June 07 on her. Balcony cabin again.

Go on a maiden cruise (I did on Aurora...the 4th cruise, but 1st break). You get a band, streamers and FREE champagne....well we did then
