the victorian in galveston

has anyone stayed at the victorian in galveston? is it nice and safe to leave a vehicle?

I think there are two " hotels" by that name in Galveston. One is a B & B. The other has recently changed hands and is a condo/hotel now owned by Hawthorne. I have been told they are making changes for the better. We have a room reserved for August at the condo one. They have free cruise parking and a shuttle.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on the Beach before our last criuse in January. The room really smelled of cigarette smoke, but other than that it was okay. I would specify non-smoking next time. They also have parking and a free shuttle. The shuttle was somewhat disorganized, but hey it was free. No problems with the car when we returned.

Hope this helps.

Ranchingal, my husband is from Bulverde! We go to Canyon Lake everytime we go back to visit!

We have not stayed at the Victorion but have satyed at Moody Gardens as it came highly recommended. And LOVED it! We are going on Rhapsody again in January and are hoping to stay at the Harbor house (much closer and a view of the port) but if they won't allow us to park our car there or charge too much for that then we will stay at Moody Gardens again. They shuttled us to the port and also valet parked our car in their parking garage free of charge.

yes, it is the hawthorn victorian condo. i hope it is nice & they allow you to leave your car their and they shuttle back and forth.

We are back from our cruise. The Victorian was perfect for us. Group of nine. One unit. Free breakfast. Free parking. Free shuttle. Three bedroom condo facing the muddy gulf. One night $ 300.00 plus tax.

Hard to beat that.
