nancycara Posted June 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2006 Looking for a hotel, preferably with a canal view, pre cruise for June 2007. Has anyone stayed at one of the smaller hotels in Amsterdam? It does not have to be plush, just clean with modern bath and in a good location. 1 in our group is elderly so would want an elevator or a lower room for him. Thanks! dakrewser Posted June 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2006 I always find tripadvisor.com to be the best source of advice about hotels. We'll be staying, post-cruise, at the Hotel Estherea in July, based in large part on the reviews we read at tripadvisor. We did manage to get a room overlooking the Singel Canal and we're within a 15-minute walk of Dam Square, the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt square and the Jordaan - about as "central" a location as you can get! It might not be the right hotel for you, but certainly a few of the 300 or so listed would "fill the bill".
nancycara Posted June 4, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted June 4, 2006 Would love to hear about the hotel upon your return. I was looking at that one. What kind of rate did you get?
dakrewser Posted June 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2006 Would love to hear about the hotel upon your return. I was looking at that one. What kind of rate did you get? We got a "deluxe" room (one with a canal view) for 155 Euros/night, booking directly with the hotel.
