Having A passport doesn't really speed the process all that much.
kittyg Posted June 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2006 We had no trouble with birth certificate and driver's license. The kids, who did not have a photo id were asked their birth date or place to make sure it was their birth certificate. It seemed just as fast as for those with passports. Rare lv2cruisgrl Posted June 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2006 You shouldnt have a problem, we never do (11 cruises). However we did get passports because after the end of the year you "Have to" have them or you can't cruise.

mrgabriel Posted June 4, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2006 I have a passport and I am still hauled off to immigration every time! I'm a naturalized citizen, so they seem to pay special attention to me. However, it's certainly easier to carry that one document, rather than make sure I have my naturalization papers (US) or birth certificate (Canada).
