Suite Priority boarding

We are booked on the Victory in July. My wife and I have a suite. The kids have an inside room across the hall. I understand that passengers in a suite have some special boarding. Would the rest of the family be able to go with the suite passengers? Any comments would be appreciated.

When you say "the kids" ... are they minor children or grown?

If they are minor kids, I would make sure that your rooms are "linked" and I would expect you all to get on together VIP. However, if they are grown adults, then they may not get that priviledge.

Thanks for all the encouragement. It happens to be my son(age 20) and I in the inside cabin. My wife and daughter(17) are in the suite. At least until we check in. My wife is enjoying the fact that her name has the VIP tag. I think I will try the family group technique of boarding but won't hesitate to bluff if necessary.

I would think y'all would be fine. The TA should already have the cabins linked so that you all eat together!!

What VIP boarding privileges exist for passengers in a suite?

Just that - VIP boarding.

It just means that you look for the VIP boarding line, and you get to check in and board ahead of everybody in the regular boarding line.

Since there are so few suites in comparison to other cabins, the line and wait is always shorter and faster.

As I understand it, junior suites aren't supposed to get this, but depending on the location, sometimes they do? I'm really interested in this, because I'm going to be in one next year. :)

If it's category 11 then yes you do.

All category 11s and 12s get VIP boarding.

What ship are you sailing on (Imagination?), I might have a bunch of information and pictures for you.

Yup, that's the one. :D I was actually thinking of my 2nd cruise, which is going to be next year [on RCI's Enchantment of the Seas]; that's the junior suite that I'm going to be in next year, and I don't think RCI's JS gets priority boarding [darn!]. The Carnival cruise on the Imagination is in December '06, and it's cabin U102, a cat 12. I can't wait for my first ocean cruise; if you have any info, it would be gratefully appreciated. :)

To Solitary Phoenix:

Here's a link to Category 12s (pics and reviews) for Fantasy Class ships (Imagination is a Fantasy Class).

Note that there is a typo in the beginning, balcony is 70 square feet not 30 (it's been addressed and fixed several times already in the thread).

These are great cabins, you'll love it!

Ask any questions about the cabin specifically on that thread.

To the OP (skogler):

Since you are husband/wife/kids there should be no problem at all checking in VIP together.

They want to make you happy, you're a small group combined, and they know that you'll want to get your embarkation picture together as a family. In general, they only give people problems if it's like "my friends over there are not booked with us and are in a totally separate cabin, and they want VIP boarding with us". And even in that case, there have been reports on this board of people getting VIP boarding with their friends.

So, in your case, it should be a slam dunk no problem.

Hi!

I was the first dude on the ship: VIP suite and also a wheelchair.

The getting off the ship: well we had a not top color but the whelchair got us out earlier.

Curt the cabin was 89% new: nice TV, no stereo, or DVD, the "bar" was a shelf with glasses.

The suite was wonderous: huge: I could have taken say four steers (cattle) with me from Colorado. The Balcony was so large we could actually get winded from the walking:eek: No but large. Steward and staff were great: we tipped them well.

It is not an "owners Suite" as on other cruise lines. No butler, etc.

I have pics and video: so soon I will post.

I was waiting to see when you got back! Sounds like you had a great time,

Tin Angel + VIP boarding = first dude on the ship!:D

No rush, but whenever you get a relaxed, spare amount of time, I'd love a review and any pics and video on your Fantasy Class Category 12 on my thread here:

Thanks in advance, and again no rush, whenever you're good and ready.

Joe,

You should have also had priority DEBARKATION...

I got off the Ecstasy on Memorial Day...priority. I was in an owner's suite at the top of the ship, but others who were Cat 12s, and those who were Platinum cruisers, also got priority debarkation. I did have to ask at the Purser's Desk, and received the tags when I asked about priority debarkation.

Next time ask somebody!

It was quick and easy. We were told to be in the library by 8:15. A lady came and escorted us down a separate hallway and right up to the place you last use your s&s card. Then it was through a special line for customs, and out the door. We were in our vehicle going home by 9 AM.
