Hotel Suggestions in Galveston?

My DH and I will be sailing on the Rhapsody in July, and are looking for a reasonably priced hotel for the Saturday night before we sail. Anyone have any suggestions? We looked at the Holiday Inn, but they are booked for the weekend.

Thanks!

Lisa

We stayed at the Best Western Beachfront on the seawall side of the island. It was comfortable and reasonably priced. There are several restaurants within walking distance and also a large grocery store next door. A WalMart is less than a mile away. The cab ride from the hotel to the pier was a total of $10 for both of us.

Greetings,

We stayed in Galveston last year and there are quite a few nice hotels along the sea wall. The Hilton Galveston Island Resort is very nice - great pool - around $148 a night and they have a shuttle that will take you to the Port - the Quality Inn is nice too - less expensive - if you want to be near the cruise terminal Wyndhan has two hotels down town - the harbour house and the Tremont. Of the two, the tremont is more expensive. If you go to www.tripadvisor.com and check for galveston hotels you will get some good ideas - their reviews are pretty helpful.

We leave on the Conquest August 27th and we booked Motel 6 in Galveston for under $60 (AAA discount). We figured that since we will be staying on a 4 star floating hotel for the week after that we would stay in a basic motel teh night before.

Just stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree in GAL. Very nice and clean, great view of the seawall, beach and Gulf. Good pool with swim up bar and Free Cruise Parking!! I would recommend this hotel and stay there again next time.
