Kauai-Poipu or Lydgate or Ke'e

I have read and asked and gotten lots of info. I now have specific questions about these 3 beaches.

We want:

-areas with soft sand, little rocks..

-some waves, not huge, but able to ride a boogie board..

-lay in sun, and cool off for me while older kids swim, play in waves,

-facilities, bathrooms, rinse off area...

-food for lunch/snacks, maybe a beachy restaurant to get appetizers or hot dog... we can put on shorts/shirts over suits

-easy parking

-easy to find

-no hiking, I would like to park, carry our foldup chairs, boogie board, and bag of beach stuff and hang out for about 3-4 hours.

-snorkeling is not important, we are doing that other days.

Which of these would most closely fit this....

Lydgate or Poipu sounds like what you want. Lydgate park is very large and has everything you want except for food facilities. Depending on the age of your kids, it is very child friendly for little ones. Keep in mind, most beaches in Hawaii are not commercially developed for the most part. A food wagon may wander in but hasn't when I've been there. At Poipu, Brenneke's is a few steps across the road from the beach and is a casual restaurant and bar, also a local institution with good food. Both beaches have lots of free parking and are easily accessible. Kee beach is gorgeous. Parking there can be a problem as the small area fills up but there is another parking location down the road. There are toilets and you can clean up and change there but no food. There are lots of places in Hanalei where you could pick up a lunch. In Kapaa as well for Lydgate.
