Where do we stay in Galveston the night before we embark?

Can anyone recommend a hotel that we should stay at in Galveston? We are coming in the day before (august 19th). Also, any good tips on how to get from airport to hotel (ie: shuttle, taxi, rent a car)?

Dont know about shuttle from airport but i do know on weekend in galveston most hotels have a 2 night min stay however i did find one q--lity inn and suites that allowes a one night stay king room with balcony under 100 bucks u just take a taxi to port i think about 3 miles ps.for those driving in they allow parking free for cruisers.

Hello! We are cruising in September and I found a hotel, on Labor Day weekend, for $99 with with cruise parking. Visit Galveston.com and look for that inn, I don't know how great it is but it was affordable and says it's on the water! I would just take a taxi from there or see if the inn has a shuttle! Good luck!:)

We are cruising October 8 and we are staying at Ramada Limited for one night for $70.00 and it is right on the seawall Blvd....

There are at least a couple of motels that do NOT require the 2 night stay. The ones I know for sure are La Quinta-Seawall (there are 2): the Best Western Seawall: and Commodere on the Beach. Good luck! :)
