When is the best time to use the laundries on the Liberty? We sail 7/06.

Do you need quarters? How many? Are they crowded? Are there irons available?

Any suggestions on shore excursions on your own?

Can you use Euros in Dobrovnik?

Or any other wisdom you experienced Liberty cruisers can impart!

Thanks!I learn so much form this site! Titania

There are a few laundry rooms available through-out the ship. YOu can get a roll of quarters from the pursers desk. 2.00 to wash 2.00 to dry and another 1.00 for detergent.

I use the laundry room early in the morning-- throw the wash in the washer then go have breakfast. By the time we get done the wash is just about done and ready for the dryer. I throw it in the dryer then head to the cabin to get ready for the day.

Sea days will be crowded for the washers... formal nights will be crowded for the iron.

My wife did the laundry and she did it first thing in the morning

Yes you need quarters. Even though the ship is in Europe everything about it runs on US dollars. Here's a link about Laundry http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Laundry_Facilities_-_Self_Service_Launderettes.aspx

There are a few messages already about shore excursions on your own. Yes they took Euros just fine in Dubrovnik. By the way Dubrovnik is definately a gem.

Don't waste your vacation doing laundry. They do laundry by the bag specials that are cheap. Let Carnival do your laundry

I heard that:DO NOT DO LAUNDRY ON "AT SEA" DAYS. TOO CROWDED.

Also I would like to see if somebody can help with transfer from a central Rome hotel to Civitavecchia. I heard that a group can get together and have a bus or a couch and it is definitely cheaper and less combersome than the train and a taxi. Please help!!!!!! see you there!!!!
