Sayyadina Posted June 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2006 Just an FYI that the June 19 issue of Time has a 2-pager on RCI's Freedom of the Seas. It's a pretty good, short nutshell article and just confirms that you couldn't get me on this boat with a crowbar and some crisco. :D

GMoney Posted June 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2006 Thank you very much for the heads up on this; it hadn't made the RCI board yet! Below is a link to my comments on Freedom's maiden voyage, in case anyone is interested. We had a great time, but even I think the ship is a bit too big. I guess the good thing is we all have so many options when cruising. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=361853

RCCL's new build for 2009 is gonna be 40% bigger than Freedom of the Seas and the project is called "Genesis?" If a ship that huge is called Genesis ... then a sailing on a "quaint" HAL ship with only about 1,200 other passengers would have to be called "Rapture." :) I'm with you. No way would I sail something this big. Blue skies ... --rita
cruznon Posted June 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2006 I noticed the article yesterday and gave it a brief scan. Ugh, don't think I'd sail on a ship that large. Why a ship that size? Enough already!
