Phone or Cellphone from Half Moon Cay

Two questions: We need to make a call from Half Moon Cay

 

1. Are we out of range for the cellphone? If not, is the surcharge worse than:

 

2. What is the cost of using the shipboard phone for a call back to the U.S.?

The shipboard phone is something like $8 per minute.

 

Cell phone - I think it depends if you have worldwide service on your phone. I don't, so mine didn't work, obviously. Sorry, maybe someone who does will know if their phone worked.

Half Moon Cay does not even have roads, it is uninhabited except for the cruise traffic. I don't think you will find any cell phone towers there.

 

Ship-based phone services are your only option, unless you can procure a satellite phone.
