Wine shops open in France on Sundays?

Recommended Posts

Our first stop from Dover is LeHavre. Looks like a good place to stock up on wine for the cruise. Will be there on Sunday. Anyone know if wine shops or supermarkets are usually open on Sunday?

We were in Le Havre on a Sunday and went to Honfleur for the day. In the morning quite a few shops were open but by 1pm every shop other than a restaurant was closed. I am sorry I cannot help you anymore. Usually in France, Sunday is a rest day and the sabbath and no shops are open.

The French also close a lot of stores on Monday. Business and work to them has a value less than that of a civilized life style.

When my brother first moved to Paris he would marvel that restaurants (some) would be closed on Friday and Saturday nights ! Yes, they want to spend time with their families rather than maximize revenue.

Another funny thing, when they *scalp* tickets for performances, they do it at the printed price onthe ticket.
