formal dress nights on 4 day American Queen

Hi what is the dress code requirements for evenings and is it for one or 2 of the nights..Dockers OK? jacket required ?Sport shirt w or w/o jacket? Tie yes or no?

I've noticed that most people dress up every night on steamboat cruises -- anything from dressy dresses / suits to cocktail dresses / tux. On some nights smart casual (collared shirts & khaki pants are okay) with sundresses for women. Number of formal nights -- depends on the cruise length. Seven night cruises -- usually 2. Three to four nights -- usually 1. But, as I said, most people dress up more in the evening on these cruises than on ocean cruises.
