ciaobella Posted June 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2006 For those of you who have used tour companies (not a HAL excursion) to sightsee in STP, where did you eat lunch? Did your guide take you to a pre-determined restaurant? Was it a place which catered to tourists, or was it a "local" eatery? Thanks!
RuthC Posted June 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2006 I toured with Red October the two days I was in St. Petersburg. The first day we were at Peterhof at lunchtime; we ate in the cafeteria there. We needed local currency, but the guide paid and we reimbursed her with dollers. The second day included lunch at a fine local restaurant. I don't remember too many other people there, but the other patrons weren't tourists. The guide and driver did not sit with us; they were able to get a short break at a separate table. Did your guide take you to a pre-determined restaurant? Was it a place which catered to tourists, or was it a "local" eatery? Thanks! We just did a two day tour with DenRus. Both days, lunch was provided at no additional cost at restaurants that were chosen by DenRus. there were no choices on the menu, but it was very good.
