Deal or no Deal

My husband and I were offered 2 different deals to leave our July 3rd Independence day cruise on the QM2.

 

deal #1

a new England sampler in September with the cost of 1 passanger as shipboard credit. If the credit is not all used they will refund it to you 4-6 weeks after the cruise

a cat upgrade from our D6 to a B3

 

deal #2

the July 8th T/A

upgrade to a cat B3 from our D6

airfare for 2 from London

all transfers

 

We booked our trip in October and have been waiting anxiously for it. It is our first cruise ever and the CC boards have been so helpful. We had been looking forward to meeting up with the July 3rd CC members on board but these deals look to good to pass up.

 

Why do you think Cunard is offering these deals? Are they that overbooked? Can they make more money reselling my D6 cabin?
