If your ship is sailing on a fireworks night it might just drop anchor off English Bay and let you take in the show - this is more likely for an inbound ship but outbound ones have occasionally done so and made up the time on the cruise up the inside passage.

We arrive in Vancouver on June 29th and are staying near Stanley Park. Now I know what we'll be doing at 10:00pm!
