robtx100 Posted June 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2006 Hey guys. I'm currently at 239 pounds (male) and would like to get to at least 190 before i cruise, so would be about 50lbs to lose. Anyone have any success with Atkins?
nancyrg Posted June 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2006 my husband lost 80 pounds with atkins, but found it very difficult to keep it off-it is not a long term eating plan (in my opinion) but it was a great fast weight loss for him
robtx100 Posted June 28, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted June 28, 2006 Thanks, I think that's what I'll try for a few months. If it doesn't work, it will leave me a few months before the cruise in feb.

Flintstone Posted July 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Rob...if you are doing Atkins (or any LC plan)...here is an excellent website for info, recipes and support. Some very informed people to guide you along in LCing the correct way. (Its not all bacon and hamburgers!) Hope it helps! jp2001 Posted August 4, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Here is just my humble opinion: Atkins doesn't seem like a diet for life while South Beach Diet seems to be. Please have a look at their website southbeachdiet.com before you make your choice. Also remember that, after the few first weeks (2 to 4) of a diet, your weight loss should not exceed 1-2 lbs per week. If you follow a good diet, you should be able to loose 50lbs or close to this amount. Let us know what is your choice and how you handle your diet.
