How to make Miami Vice?

We have a party coming up this week-end and I want to try a new drink on everyone!

I did a search but nothing came up!

Miami Vice

 

5 oz. 151 Bacardi Rum

Pina Colada Mix

Daquari Mix

 

First, blend Pina Colada with 2.5 oz. of rum and ice.

Second, blend Daquiri with 2.5 oz. of rum and ice.

Layer each in a glass, half of each.

:eek: THAT'S the part that has me lost, dazed, and confused. How exactly do you "Layer" a liquid vertically.

Please, please, please explain

After it's blended, it's not 'liquid'... it's slush. If it's still too thin, add more ice & re-blend!

Layering a drink is a very old technique also referred to as "floating".

I've made them according to my above posted recipe. They are a frozen concoction....like a slush.

 

Fill half your glass with the Daq. Then dump the Colada right on top until the glass is full. Your drink is now two-toned. No need to mix. Pop in a straw, perhaps a fruit garnish and drink up!
