In Rome's heat..where to hang out that's cooler?

Recommended Posts

At the end of July we will be in Rome for basically 24 hours. Where are some good places, when it gets too hot, for a family to hang out (in the city) until the temps start to cool in the afternoon???

I have been in Rome several times when it has been very hot,but in reality it isn't that bad.You could hang out in the Borghese Park which offers a lot of shade,go into some art galleries/museums,,but you can walk on the shaded side of the streets and visit the sights as some do offer shade..you just don't want to be in the Forum at high noon...very hot.Take water, and some wet wipes and just go for it since you have limited time....

Of course you could sit down in an air-conditioned restaurant yet cberge is right, you can just plan to do some inside sightseeing. In most churches and museums it will be cooler than outside.
